Poa Trivialis

Developed in the Pacific Northwest, Voltaire poa trivialis was selected from highly attractive clones that exhibited fine texture, high density, dark color and excellent disease resistance. This exciting product is the latest entry into the golf course overseeding market by the Olsen Seed Company. Voltaire has been designed to enhance our mixes using the “Pure Genius” perennial ryegrass line. It can be used in mixes for fairways, tee areas, and putting greens as well as for general over-seeding applications. In addition, it can be used in straight applications wherever an attractive poa trivialis turf is desired.

Voltaire shows improvement over older varieties with greater turf density, very dark color, fine texture and excellent resistance to leaf spot. In overseeding situations, it provides a dark turf with rapid establishment and quick transition to bermuda in the Spring. In permanent turf applications for more temperate climates, Voltaire provides excellent shade tolerance with low nitrogen requirements. It also exhibits improved cold tolerance.
